Jags' Owner Spending Even More to Curry Favor

Just as I was defending Jacksonville Jaguars billionare owner Shad Khan for accepting $43 million in public subsidies because he spent $10,000 out of his own pocket for Tallahassee lobbying, we find out he's spending even more of his hard-earned money on the team! (note: my tongue is firmly-planted-in-cheek)

Campaign filings reveal Khan donated $250,000 to Governor Rick Scott's “Let’s Get to Work” committee.  It'll be interesting to see how many times his name also turns up in legislators' filings.

  1. Well Noah, your welcome for more of my great insight. I follow a lot about Jacksonville because my family lives there, plus I spend a lot of time up there, and the reasoning behind the donation is in return help with developing the "ship yards" along the St.Johns River that sets across the street from EverBank Field. It's the same situation that I've argued against your opinion. Again, your more of a it hasn't happened, where I'm more of a it's going to happen, and if you follow the trails, your catch on like I have, like the story you wrote recently about how years ago someone wrote how the Nations park hasn't help spring the "Navy yards", and I debunked your story with a more recent update that stated how it's blossoming around there now. Kahn isn't doing anything more then any other wealthy progressive does, and if Jacksonville ends up with a bad ass completed Riverwalk by the "sports complex" that helps bring a NCAAFB championship, soccer, and more Super Bowls, then it was worth the 1st back scratch. Why? Because every smart person knows you have to get the politics on your side before anything is done...
"Just another example of sports helping spawn progress in it's city!"
